I believe that we are all called to make a positive difference in the world, and that we should each strive to improve the lives of others through service to one another and to our community. Each of us has a role to play in that grand mission. For the past 4 years, I've had the privilege of serving as a City Commissioner of the city that I love - Bozeman, Montana. I see my service as a commissioner as an integral part of my responsibility to leave the world a better place than I found it.

 

This role has allowed me to try to address some of the most vexing issues we face as a community: growth management, affordable housing, mental health & social services, fiscal responsibility, conservation of precious resources, and preservation of our unique character and quality of life. It comes down to this: "How do we preserve the things we love about Bozeman as we continue to grow?"

As you review my record of accomplishments over the past 4 years, I hope you'll agree that:

• I have made many positive contributions to addressing key community issues; "I get things done."

• I have gone well beyond the traditional role of a City Commissioner to provide tangible solutions: "I am fully committed to the welfare of the city."

As Mayor, I will continue to make significant progress on our most challenging issues, but importantly, I can also help foster the types of partnerships and collaborations among key Bozeman organizations and institutions necessary to move us forward as a community. I am convinced that we have the resources to tackle every major challenge; we just need to work in tandem to harness our collective horsepower and creativity. "There is nothing wrong with Bozeman that cannot be cured by what's right with Bozeman."
